La Fin De L'été

This piece is a tribute to the end of summer. It is not often that you witness a sunshower in which rain falls while the sun is shining. Since this is a rare phenomenon and often leads to the appearance of a rainbow, I like to think of sunshowers as good luck.
Inspiration:
This illustration was inspired by a time told by my friend who was on Dominican Republic’s beach and noticed a woman immersed in the water holding an umbrella while it was raining. Interestingly, in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, it is said that witches are marrying. In general, multiple folktales have animals behaving weirdly during this time. I framed this piece with an irregular organic shape because of its rare moment in time.
