Gua Sha is a natural healing remedy derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Also known as coining or spooning. Gua Sha is mainly used for lymphatic drainage, relieving facial tension and lifting the skin. The method requires using a massaging tool to rub or scrape along the skin. Face Rolling tools also helps with reducing puffiness and soothing the skin. It is not painful, but the skin may appear with minor bruising.

Gua Sha is believed to draw out toxins from the skin & body. Energy, known as qi, flows throughout the body and binds together all things in the universe. The benefits from Gua Sha are enhanced by consuming healthy foods that heal and promote good health.

Inspiration:

I was inspired by TCM, tools and techniques to create this piece. The age of technology stems from historical practice. To pay some homage to my culture, I illustrated a range of gua sha tools in front of a blue background inspired by Chinese motifs.
